en hogar

Querida Raquelita,
para estar “en casa” siempre se ha sentido un poco más vacío y diferente que estar “en hogar."
for years upon years, you’ve longed to travel and establish a new place to call “home”. you still feel such a way – that’s okay. yet, I wonder why?
para ti, es porque hubo un gran cambio en tu vida cuando eras una jovencita. for you, you began to lack the values that you uphold around labeling a house your home. as a middle child, and also someone who developed a living space separately from that of the rest of your family, your youth was abundant with necessary independence.
you’ve been craving community, culture and a greater sense of kinship “en casa.” you’ve been eager to know what coming back home to togetherness is defined as. you’ve been long anticipating the subconscious awareness of feeling settled en “un hogar” – both without and within. you even feel all these feelings so much that you thrive upon supporting others in helping them feel “en hogar” – especially displaced individuals from all around the globe.
you’ve been and you are consistently “unsettled” because you’ve never been settled “en hogar,” especially within tu propio cuerpo. creating a newer and truer foundation on which you can settle upon - in mind, body, and spirit, is key.
remind yourself that you always have the key, the power to create and even co-create on this foundation, both without and within; to better transform what is “en casa” a “en hogar” wherever you are in este mundo.
con mucha paz, amor y agradecimiento,
Raquelita
